Background Information

The Bay Area Little Symphony is the only fully professional orchestra that has been providing FREE "in-school" concerts for children around the Bay Area since 1975. Children sit right next to musicians and get a first hand musical experience.  One of the most exciting and memorable parts of our performance is when we choose several students to conduct the orchestra. This year we will also be inviting several students who play an instrument to sit next to our musicians and play with the group.

This season we will be adding an exciting new visual dimension to our sound with live projected videos animated from drawings by Morrie Turner, well known Cartoonist (Wee Pals), syndicated in 110 newspapers internationally. Morrie, who has joined our staff as Cartoonist and Artistic Consultant, will also draw cartoons live of children chosen as student conductors at selected concerts.
